Copyright & DMCA Policy

Effective Date: July 30, 2026

The Market Compass (“The Market Compass,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects all users of our platform to do the same.

This Copyright & DMCA Policy explains how copyright concerns may be reported and how we respond to claims of copyright infringement in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), where applicable.

1. Intellectual Property

Users are responsible for ensuring they own or have the legal right to use all content submitted to The Market Compass, including but not limited to:

  • Business logos
  • Photographs
  • Event flyers
  • Videos
  • Graphics
  • Written descriptions
  • Documents
  • Artwork
  • Other uploaded materials

Submitting content to The Market Compass does not transfer ownership of that content to us.

2. Respect for Copyright

You may not upload or publish content that:

  • Infringes another person’s copyright.
  • Violates trademark rights.
  • Misappropriates another person’s creative work.
  • Uses copyrighted material without authorization or another valid legal basis.

You are solely responsible for the content you submit.

3. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content available on The Market Compass infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notice that includes:

  • Your full name and contact information.
  • A description of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • The specific URL or location of the allegedly infringing content.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Incomplete notices may delay our review.

4. Our Response

Upon receiving a valid copyright complaint, we may:

  • Review the reported content.
  • Temporarily disable access to the content.
  • Remove the content.
  • Contact the user who submitted the content.
  • Request additional information from either party.
  • Take further action as appropriate under applicable law and our policies.

Submission of a complaint does not automatically result in removal.

5. Counter-Notification

If your content is removed because of a copyright complaint and you believe it was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification as permitted by applicable law.

A counter-notification should include:

  • Your contact information.
  • Identification of the removed content.
  • A statement made under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed due to mistake or misidentification.
  • A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court, where applicable.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We will review counter-notifications in accordance with applicable law.

6. Repeat Infringers

The Market Compass reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly violate copyright laws or this policy.

We may also remove listings associated with repeated infringement.

7. Trademark Complaints

If you believe that a listing improperly uses your registered trademark or otherwise creates confusion regarding your business or organization, please contact us.

Trademark disputes will be reviewed individually and may require additional documentation.

8. Good Faith Requirement

Copyright complaints should only be submitted when you genuinely believe your rights have been infringed.

Knowingly submitting false or misleading claims may have legal consequences under applicable law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Copyright & DMCA Policy from time to time.

The Effective Date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.

Continued use of The Market Compass after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
